How to Get a Copy of a Sequoyah Court Document

Copies of court documents come in two types: certified and uncertified. A certified copy has the clerk's seal and signature and is usually required for official purposes — filing with another court, confirming legal status, real estate transactions. An uncertified copy is suitable for personal review.

How to Obtain a Copy

  1. In Person. Visit the Court Clerk's office in the courthouse. You will need the case number or the full name of the party and the approximate filing date. The clerk will find the document and make a copy on the spot.
  2. By Mail. Send a written request specifying the case number, document type, number of copies (certified or uncertified), and return address. Include a check or money order for the appropriate amount.
  3. Online. Through the OSCN system, you can view case data and some documents for free. To obtain a certified copy, you still need to contact the clerk.
